ŽURNAL’S ANNIVERSARY: Thirteen years with you

We are celebrating the 13th anniversary of Žurnal during the pre-election period, and that is never a good time for any kind of celebration. It's like blowing out the candles on a cake in a burning house.

A FISH’S MEMORY

Because, before the elections, all the absurdity under which Bosnia and Herzegovina is pressed must be shown. The candidates for the presidency openly say that they will spend their mandate on the destruction of the state, people are preparing for the parliament who have already announced that they will not do anything there, the parties are preparing strategies that will only increase tensions, and the economy, it seems, does not interest either the candidates or the voters. It's as if nobody cares how they live anymore, as if we're small-minded people with the memory of a goldfish, so they spread optimistic news that thanks to them we can now take the train to Ploče and go to Neum without a passport. If that is not enough for us, they emphasize, then we must be happy to have any kind of country, it doesn't matter that it is cramped, uncomfortable and hungry - any kind is better than none.

The atmosphere is at high voltage, hysterical. Everyone must be careful what they say, check every comma three times, because the wrong word immediately classifies a person as a traitor to something, anything.

WE MUST CELEBRATE

But we have to celebrate, even if it goes against our will. We have to celebrate because, despite everything that was against us, we survived for thirteen years!

It's hard to talk about yourself and avoid bragging, but on the other hand, it's not fair to be falsely modest either. Because we tried all these years, neither the party nor the state gave us anything.

We think we have a lot to be proud of. We are proud of the awards we have received, the letters of gratitude and numerous messages of support from our readers who assure us that all this makes sense. We are proud to withstand the continuous attacks of nationalists, tycoons, bots, spies, bandits and all kinds of primitive tyrant.

We didn't just hold our position these thirteen years, on the contrary, we realigned our forces, strengthened, improved and expanded the free territory. We were present in every part of Bosnia and Herzegovina, unlike pop patriots who love their homeland from afar or from the vault.

There were many difficult moments, but also friendship, true collegiality and satisfaction after successfully completed research. Our biggest holidays were texts that brought concrete results, arrests, indictments, and saved public money.

THE BEGINNING OF A NEW CYCLE

There are many interpretations of the number 13, but we like the one that says that this number marks a step into the new, the beginning of a new cycle, a new life. We will try to improve your and our Žurnal even more. We still count on the support of friends and the help of readers. As for the enemies reading this, we promise them that we will be against them for a long time to come. There is too much unfinished business to just walk away. They know exactly what kind.
