WATCH ŽURNAL’S MOVIE: Battle for life - System against oncology patients
Žurnal’s new movie, “Battle for Life: System against oncology patients” sheds light on the challenges faced by oncology patients and the system they must navigate as to exercise their right to treatment.
Non-transparent waiting lists of the Health Insurance and Reinsurance Institute of the FBiH, shortages of essential cytostatic medications, a stagnant list of medicines in the Solidarity Fund that hasn’t been updated by the Federation Ministry of Health for five years, and failed procurement attempts for radiation equipment at UKC Tuzla — these are just a few of the daily struggles endured by oncology patients.
The patients are left to fend for themselves, battling both the system and the disease, and they demand from the authorities only what is mandated by law, as well as the right to a dignified life and dignified treatment.
